D&D NOTES

She Flew, You Say; A Tune from the Mountains of Somewhere; Dragon Style

☕ Start of session

About 1 hour until comet is overhead at 10 AM

Sparkrender has discussed his plans (cagily) with the party – resurrect dead dragons, rule the world. He’s now in his study and has mentioned that he’ll be out in about 30 minutes to get things started.

Elmer notes that Sparkrender seemed to have a slip of the tongue earlier, saying that Runara flew away and was no longer around. When Elmer muttered “flew away?” Sparkrender quickly moved the conversation away from Runara.

The party has opted for sabotage.

9:00 AM

The party leaves the observatory and sees the harpies sleeping. Vera softly plays A Tune from the Mountains of Somewhere as the party approaches, hoping to ask for their help in stopping the ritual. One of the harpies is from Tudylaylee.

The harpies agree, but only in exchange for a mirror. The mirror was hidden in a location unknown to either party by “slugger”.

In the remaining time, the party continues to opt for sabotage.

9:15 AM

Most of the party assembles back near the harpy nest; Elmer stays put to meet Sparkrender.

9:30 AM

Sparkrender emerges, upset by the destruction of the effigies and looks to Elmer for more information on what happened. Elmer claims they, uh, the others are gone, and that he’s sure interested in helping, though.

Sparkrender, somewhat stymied, continues his preparations.

10:00 AM

The King-Killer Star is overhead! Sparkrender begins the ritual by chanting and coaxing Elmer to participate:

I said a-boom-chick-a-boom

I said a-boom-chick-a-boom

I said a-boom-chick-a-rock-a-chick-a-rock-a-chick-a-boom!

Uh-huh!

Oh Yeah!

One more time!

Dragon Style!

The first time this occurs, one of the dragon effigies lights up a bit, and Sparkrender seems satisfied. More rounds of this need to happen for the ritual to be completed.

The Harpies close in to try to be a distraction.

Michael looses an arrow.

Vera lines up her insults.

Elmer considers his options.
