D&D NOTES

Heading Back; Smooth Sailing; Yooni is in Danger

☕ Start of session

Runara has been found! The party has a tasty lunch with the rest of the group in the dining area, and meet in private with Runara afterwards to talk about what they’ve learned and ask Runara some questions.

During lunch, Vera shows the scrap of fabric that she found, and Runara notes that it’s from the Dia de los Muertos festival they had a while back. It was lovely.

More from Runara

Runara and the party talk about the following:

Where is Sparkrender? Any thoughts about who he’s been working with?

She doesn’t know this. If he headed northeast, he could be headed to the Great Worm Cavern, as she believes dragons and dragon cultists may see it as a place of honor.

Who else can we talk to?

Floryck Dramos, the trader who commissioned the party to help look for the moonstones, is a friend of Runara’s. Check with him to see if he has any ideas. He lives on the eastern edge of Neverwinter Wood, about a 4-day walk total from the coast.

Is there anything else we can help you with?

Runara ponders for a bit, then steps away for a minute; she returns with a large helmet with a red-feathered plume running from front to back. She says it used to belong to a friend, and would like it to be returned home.

Runara shied away from saying more about this. The helmet will either find its way home or it won’t – maybe you’re just along for the ride.

Wrapping up and shipping back

Elmer takes a look in the library and finds a book titled Names Of Fiends And How To Avoid Them.

A small, dusty book. The cover is worn, but the pages are crisp.

The book has 20 pages listing various fiends and their "true names", which are said to possibly allow summoning or control over the fiend, or perhaps even bind it to a pact.

This book has no author listed, speaks in an overly confident tone, and makes no notes about the dangers of possessing this knowledge,
so you suspect most of the names are bullshit, but you never know.

Michael takes time over the journey to further study more about hawks and how to handle Robin.

Vera explores a bit, finding a small bag containing a dozen aquamarine marbles allong with two red ones.

The journey homeward is uneventful – smooth sailing, sunny skies.

Into the woods

As the party starts trekking eastward into Neverwinter Wood, they hear a ruckus and are suddenly met by a regular-sized buffalo with tiny-sized wings. The buffalo is wearing a tiny red velvet hat.

“Quickly! Yooni is in danger! If there is good in your hearts, follow me!”

The buffalo leads the party into a clearing in the woods.

The first thing the party sees is a white mare underneath a weighted net. The stump of a horn protrudes from the mare’s brow.

The mare (formerly a unicorn?) is near a shallow woodland pool, is surrounded by half a dozen toad-like creatures. These creatures are frantically scampering around the pool, and the party notices that tiny arrows are raining down from nearby.

From a rocky bluff above the pool, a goblin of sorts barks commands at the toadies, seemingly their commander. A glowing portal floats in the air beside the goblinoid.

The party approaches.
