Setting a Stew Trap; Midnight Blue Dirla; Faerie Cakes
☕ Start of session
LAST TIME: The party, having impressed Misters Witch and Light, had a short meeting with them. After the meeting, Burly suggested a heist to help the party get informatino out of Witch and Light.
Meeting with Dirlagraun
The party decided to meet with Dirlagraun, as suggested by Burly.
On the way, they met Earnest, the monkey-man at the Calliope. Vera gave him a button, which he sewed onto his vest.
At the Lost Items booth, they meet Dirlagraun, a displacer beast. She tells them about people and things going missing here at the carnival. There is some discussion about the color of her fur.
A clever, clever trap
The party decides to get some thread (from the Calliope seamstor) and fastens a trap with the spiked stew from several sessions ago. Anyone trying to steal the stew will instead simply pull on Michael’s thread, and will be caught!
The party trys and fails to attract anyone to their stew. Vera seems to catch a glimpse of a shadow of a small girl with a pig-face in the crowd, but she fades away instantly.
A snake!
The party returns to Dirla, and one of the children she’s been watching has run off. The party agrees to help. “slugger” does recon, and Vera conjures up a snake illusion to get the kid to come her way (?)
A happy return
WHen the party returns the child back to Dirla, Dirla tells them about her own cub, Star, who disappeared many years ago. Dirla still has Star’s ball (a small, mirrored ball) and gives it to the party in case they find Star.
The contest
The party heads to the Feasting Orchard nearby, where small faeries have treats laid out along with bottles of mead.
Michael enters the faerie cake eating contest. Elmer alters the taste of Michael’s side of cakes to help. After a rough start, Michael successfully wins the contest and obtains a Cupcake of Invisibility (1 use, must eat whole cupcake)
